Since the burial of King Vittorio Emanuele III and the late Queen Elena of Savoy at the Sanctuary of Vicoforte, numerous visitors and admirers have come to honor the deeds of Queen Elena.

Many have asked us to create desserts dedicated to the Queen that recall her past and her kindness.

A Tribute in Sweetness: My Creation in Honor of Elena of Savoy

As a chocolatier, my passion for the art of confectionery has always found inspiration in historical figures who have left an indelible mark. Among these, Queen Elena of Savoy, with her elegance and captivating story, has captured my imagination. Thus, I decided to dedicate two unique creations to her: the Montenegrina Cake and Violet Chocolates.

The story of Elena, born in the Montenegrin lands, inspired me to create the Tenerina Cake, which is said to have been one of her favorites. This dessert, with its soft and rich chocolate center, is a tribute to her homeland, evoking the tenderness and strength that Elena brought with her to Italy. Every time I mix dark chocolate with the delicacy of the other ingredients, I imagine enclosing a piece of her story in every slice of cake.

Ingredients: 70% Dark Chocolate (cocoa, cane sugar, cocoa butter, soy lecithin), fresh egg whites Cat A, EVO oil, cane sugar, fresh egg yolks Cat A, type 1 flour, salt.

May contain traces of dairy derivatives and residues of nuts.

The Montenegrina cake does not contain preservatives and has a high moisture content; it should be stored in the refrigerator for a limited time, as indicated on the packaging.
